Job Description
Responsibilities:
Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate financial data across payroll and general ledger accounts. Reconcile account balances and investigate variances to support reliable monthly and periodic close activities. Manage payroll-related accounting tasks, including proper posting of payroll transactions and supporting payroll tax reporting requirements. Maintain and review general ledger activity to ensure transactions are classified correctly and align with company accounting standards. Use SAP ERP and Microsoft Excel to analyze financial information, track account activity, and produce supporting schedules. Partner with internal teams to gather documentation, resolve discrepancies, and improve the accuracy of accounting records. Support accounting operations tied to manufacturing plant activity by monitoring relevant financial entries and cost-related transactions. At least 2 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role. Hands-on experience preparing and posting journal entries in a detail-focused accounting environment. Working knowledge of general ledger processes, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. Experience with payroll accounting and familiarity with payroll tax reporting requirements. Proficiency with SAP ERP and strong Microsoft Excel skills for analysis and reporting. Background supporting accounting activities within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
