Experienced Tax Accountant - Public Accounting Rosenstein, Halper & Maselli, LLP Cranston, Rhode Island Full-Time | In-Person $60,000-$70,000 per year Rosenstein, Halper & Maselli, LLP, an established CPA firm in Cranston, Rhode Island, is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. We are a small public accounting firm serving individuals, families, businesses, trusts, estates and nonprofit organizations. This position is ideal for an experienced tax professional who enjoys working on a variety of clients and return types and prefers the environment of a smaller CPA firm. The successful candidate should have significant hands-on tax preparation experience and be comfortable preparing returns with limited supervision. Responsibilities Prepare federal and state individual income tax returns (Form 1040) Prepare partnership returns (Form 1065) Prepare S corporation returns (Form 1120-S) Prepare fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041) Prepare nonprofit information returns (Form 990) Prepare supporting workpapers and tax schedules Review client accounting records and identify necessary adjustments Work with client QuickBooks files and financial information Assist with tax projections and estimated tax calculations Communicate directly with clients to obtain information and resolve questions Respond to reviewer comments and make necessary changes Research tax issues when necessary Assist with other accounting and tax projects throughout the year Qualifications Minimum 5 years of recent tax preparation/public accounting experience Demonstrated experience preparing Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120-S and 990 Strong understanding of federal and state income taxation Ability to prepare tax returns and workpapers with limited supervision Experience working directly with clients Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines during tax season Experience with QuickBooks Experience with UltraTax CS is strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred CPA or EA designation is a plus, but is not required What We Offer $60,000-$70,000 annual salary , depending on experience 37.5-hour regular workweek outside of tax season Overtime compensation during tax season Paid time off Paid holidays Health insurance 401(k) plan with employer match Stable, year-round employment Small-firm environment Direct interaction with the firm's CPAs and partners Diverse client base and exposure to a wide variety of tax matters Opportunity to take on additional responsibility based on experience and ability Schedule This is a full-time, primarily in-office position at our Cranston, Rhode Island office.
