Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Hotel Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will oversee all financial operations related to hotel management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills in an environment dedicated to excellence. Duties Manage the general ledger accounting processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards. Handle accounts payable, receivable and payroll transactions, ensuring timely processing and accurate entries. Reconcile bank and credit card statements, balance sheet and identify discrepancies. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory requirements relevant to hospitality finance operations. Support forecasting, and financial analysis activities to maximize profitability. Able to use financial software and Microsoft Office tools. Assist with internal and external audits, and regulatory reporting for full compliance. Monitor cash flow, and prepare detailed financial reports for management review. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting in the hospitality industry . Strong knowledge of GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, technical accounting standards, and financial concepts including debits & credits. Familiarity with regulatory compliance accounting standards. Ability to reconcile accounts, balance sheet, and journal entries. Able to interpret complex financial statements and cash flow analysis. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Communicate effectively with vendors, hotel management and owners.
