Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations in Walterboro, South Carolina. This position will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting period-end close activities, and helping ensure tax and inventory transactions are recorded properly. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries to keep financial records complete, accurate, and aligned with reporting timelines.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to support reliable monthly and year-end financial results.
  • Manage monthly accrual calculations and related adjustments to ensure expenses are recognized in the proper accounting period.
  • Assist with sales and use tax processes, including compiling data, reviewing transactions, and supporting timely filings.
  • Contribute to corporate tax return preparation by organizing financial information and coordinating required schedules and documentation.
  • Monitor inventory-related accounting activity, including valuation, adjustments, and account reconciliation, to maintain accurate stock reporting.
  • Support closing activities by reviewing account activity, validating balances, and preparing documentation for internal reporting needs.
