Posting Text USD is seeking an energetic, creative problem solver, and strategic thinker to fill an open Accountant position. The individual hired must be able to interpret, analyze, and determine accuracy of financial data in the maintenance of controlling funds. Individual must be able to provide exceptional customer service and interpret USD and State of SD policies and procedures.

Specific tasks will include:

Audit direct pays and journal vouchers.

Process and track state contracts

Plan and Provide traning on Banner accounting processes campus wide

Manage data interface transactions into Banner and review for accuracy

Manage 1099 process

Reconcile accounts and disburse payment Candidates must demonstrate:
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to interpreting complex policies and regulations
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of units to create effective relationships for problem solving and positive interactions
  • Ability to use computers and software for detailed accounting and budgeting transactions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and electronically.
