About the Role Are you an organized numbers person with a knack for real estate finance? We are looking for an Accounting Associate - Bookkeeper to own our day-to-day financial tracking and keep our property operations running like clockwork. Working directly alongside our Senior Accountant, you won't just be plugging in numbers, you will be the financial backbone of our leasing and management pipeline, ensuring accuracy across tenant accounts, vendor payments, and property cash flows.
Your Impact & Responsibilities Financial Integrity:
Manage monthly rent collections and accurately record deposits across our core property management and accounting software platforms.
Ledger Management:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date company account ledgers via spreadsheets and specialized financial tools.
Cash Flow Support:
Oversee weekly and bi-weekly accounts payable (AP), reconcile bank statements against internal records, and flag discrepancies.
Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare essential financial documents (income statements, balance sheets, trail balances) in strict compliance with GAAP standards.
Property Operations:
Calculate monthly work orders, management fees and realtor commissions, while assisting with property tax and insurance payments.
Collaborative Growth:
Complete targeted financial research and provide direct project support to the Senior Accountant. What You Bring to the
Team The Essentials:
A solid grasp of basic bookkeeping, including double-entry accrual and cash accounting.
Software Fluency:
Hands-on experience navigating QuickBooks and property tech like AppFolio to log transactions and build core financial reports (AP/AR, balance sheets, cash flow statements). Attention to
Detail:
High level of organization and self-discipline, strong math and analytical skills to balance debits/credits, identify transaction errors, and manage physical receipts and invoices.
Mindset:
An independent worker who meets their deadlines, paired with the communication skills needed to collaborate smoothly with a tight-knit accounting team.
Compliance Savvy:
A basic understanding of payroll/sales tax liabilities and standard financial statement regulations.
