Senior Accountant

Job Description

Description Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This position will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience and hands-on experience with NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle Fusion. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with accounting leadership while contributing to process improvements and financial reporting initiatives. Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and post monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reclassifications.

+ Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.

+ Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses.

+ Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

+ Analyze financial results and investigate account fluctuations and variances.

+ Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

+ Support external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

+ Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, FP& A, and Operations teams to resolve accounting issues.

+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.

+ Support process improvement initiatives and accounting system enhancements.

+ Participate in special projects, ERP implementations, and system upgrades as needed. Requirements Technical Requirements + 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.

+ Hands-on experience with NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle Fusion required.

+ Flux Analyses

+ Audit Workpapers

+ Rollforward Schedules Familiarity with:

+ GAAP

+ Internal Controls

+ SOX Compliance

+ ERP Reporting Tools

+ Financial Consolidations Systems & Software

+ NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle Fusion experience required.

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills:

+ Pivot Tables

+ XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP

+ SUMIFS

+ INDEX/MATCH

+ Power Query

+ Financial Data Analysis

+ Experience with reporting and planning tools such as:

+ Power BI

+ Tableau

+ Adaptive Planning

+ OneStream

+ Hyperion (preferred) Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. + 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.

+ Strong understanding of the full month-end close process.

+ Experience working with large ERP systems and high transaction volumes.

+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications

+ CPA certification or CPA-track preferred.

+ Public accounting experience is a plus.

+ Experience supporting ERP implementations, acquisitions, or system conversions.

+ Experience within manufacturing, energy, distribution, healthcare, technology, or professional services environments.
