Are you passionate about crafting extraordinary wine experiences in an environment where elegance meets warm hospitality? The Marigold Club, Houston's newest culinary gem where French cuisine meets Mayfair, London style and sophistication, is seeking a Sommelier to help shape our award-winning wine program and elevate our guest experience to new heights.

We're looking for a wine professional who doesn't just serve bottles but creates moments, builds relationships, and contributes to a legacy of excellence within Goodnight Hospitality's acclaimed family of concepts.

As our Sommelier, you'll be instrumental in shaping The Marigold Club's wine identity and establishing traditions that will define our program for years to come. You'll join a wine culture that has earned global recognition with MARCH receiving World of Fine Wine's prestigious award for Best Designed Wine List in the World, as well as James Beard Foundation recognition across our concepts (MARCH as a Finalist for Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program and Rosie Cannonball as a Semifinalist). We're seeking a passionate professional who wants to build their reputation alongside ours, contributing to a legacy of excellence while developing their own voice in the industry. This is a
FULL-TIME
position offering competitive hourly compensation plus tips and commission, providing excellent earning potential for passionate professionals. Candidates must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a wine ambassador and hospitality leader in our dining room, crafting memorable experiences from welcome to farewellDevelop genuine connections with guests, intuitively guiding them through wine selections that complement their preferences and our cuisineShowcase deep expertise in wine regions, producers, and vintages, with particular emphasis on French and European selectionsArtfully balance wine education and sales, enhancing the guest experience while driving beverage program successSupport all aspects of service excellence throughout the dining experienceContribute to team growth through ongoing wine education and mentorshipCollaborate on wine procurement, inventory management, and program developmentHelp maintain and elevate our Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence standards
About You:
You possess 2+ years of experience in high-end dining with sommelier responsibilities and demonstrate extensive wine knowledgeYou approach hospitality with equal parts passion and precision, seeing service as both an art and a professionYou thrive in team environments while confidently leading by exampleYour work ethic is uncompromising, and you find fulfillment in creating exceptional experiencesYou read guests with intuitive grace, tailoring recommendations to their preferences without pretensionYou're comfortable with technology, including POS systems (TOAST) and inventory tools (CRAFTABLE)You hold current TABC and Food Handler's Certifications (wine certifications are a plus)You can lift 40 lbs, work on your feet for 10-hour shifts, and excel in a fast-paced environmentMost importantly, you see wine service as a career path, not just a job, and are eager to grow with our organization
