full-time Our client is actively interviewing for a contact to hire Staff Accountant for their corporate offices located in Katy, TX. All qualified candidates considered. Job Description The Staff Accountant supports the organization's financial operations by maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations. In addition, you may be asked to take on special projects from management such as AP functions.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post general-ledger journal entries. Reconcile bank, credit-card, balance-sheet, and subsidiary accounts. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare financial statements and management reports. Process or review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Maintain fixed-asset records and calculate depreciation. Analyze account balances and investigate discrepancies. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits and tax filings. Maintain organized and accurate financial records. Support internal controls and recommend process improvements. Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable regulations. Collaborate with payroll, operations, purchasing, and other departments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated on-going accounting experience Understanding of GAAP and basic financial-reporting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP software-Microsoft Dynamics or similar
