Responsibilities Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120‑S, 1120) for businesses and individuals, including multi‑state returns. Perform monthly and quarterly accounting for clients: record transactions, reconcile bank/credit card accounts, and maintain general ledgers. Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and ensure they are GAAP‑compliant and ready for tax and management use. Assist clients with clean‑up work, year‑end closing entries, and tie‑outs between books and tax returns. Communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve questions, and provide proactive tax and accounting guidance. Research tax and accounting issues, document findings, and propose practical recommendations. Review staff work (both tax and accounting) and provide coaching and feedback.
