Summary/Objective- Reporting to the Controller, the Jr. Staff Account will be responsible for the day-to-day general ledger functions in a manufacturing environment. This position will hands-on carry out reconciling balance sheet accounts and bank statements, record journal entries as instructed, back up for AR and AP when needed and help with preparing month-end close procedures. Essential Functions- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Assisting with Co-Op posting and analysis
- Utilizes Company accounting software to book journal entries
- Assist with producing all month end, quarter end and year end accounting reports.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and intercompany balances on a timely basis
- Conduct vendor setup, customer setup, W-9's, vendor address changes, tax reporting requirements (1099's)
- Ensures compliance with and adherence to all company guidelines and policies as pertains to vendor accounts payable, purchase order requirements, employee expense reports, etc.
- Assist with preparing required tax fillings (Sales/Use tax, property tax…)
- Assist with preparing monthly actual to budget variance analysis
- Research and respond to questions from management team and other departments
- Assist with preparing PBC documents required by the audit
- Calculate commissions
- Keep track of fixed assets, depreciation and amortization schedule and book the entry
- Keep track of all prepaids and allocate the expenses
- Assist with cost analysis and inventory management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Perform general office duties, such as filing, correspondence, as needed
- Year-end physical inventory and monthly inventory cycle counts Competencies Must be a self-starter able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
