Job Description

Overview We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Premises Helper to assist with the general upkeep, functionality, and smooth operation of the property. This role involves supporting day-to-day property needs, identifying and addressing minor issues, assisting with equipment and facility-related tasks, and ensuring that the premises remain safe, functional, and presentable. The Premises Helper will work closely with property staff to respond to issues promptly and provide practical support wherever needed. Responsibilities Assist with the general upkeep and day-to-day operation of the property. Help identify and resolve minor issues involving doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, plumbing, electrical items, and other property facilities. Perform basic repairs, adjustments, replacements, and installations as required. Regularly inspect rooms, common areas, equipment, and property facilities for potential issues. Assist with basic plumbing tasks, such as checking leaks, replacing fixtures, and addressing minor water-related issues. Assist with basic electrical tasks, such as replacing bulbs, switches, outlets, and other simple electrical components where appropriate. Help with heating, cooling, ventilation, and other building equipment to ensure they are operating properly. Assist with the setup, movement, adjustment, and installation of furniture, equipment, and property items. Respond promptly to requests from staff regarding issues or concerns within the property. Keep tools, supplies, equipment, and work areas organized and in good working condition. Report major or specialized issues to the appropriate supervisor or qualified professional. Follow property safety procedures and use appropriate precautions when carrying out assigned tasks. Assist with property inspections and routine checks to help identify potential problems before they become more serious. Support other general property-related tasks as needed to ensure the premises remain safe, functional, and well maintained. Skills Good practical and hands-on skills with the ability to perform basic repairs and adjustments. General knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, building fixtures, furniture, and property equipment. Ability to identify common problems and determine when specialized assistance is required. Ability to use basic hand tools and equipment safely and correctly. Strong attention to detail when inspecting rooms, facilities, and property areas. Ability to follow safety procedures and workplace guidelines. Good organizational and time-management skills. Reliable, responsible, and able to respond to property needs in a timely manner. Ability to work independently as well as assist other property staff. Good communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating tasks. Physically capable of performing routine hands-on tasks, lifting, moving, and setting up property items when required. Willingness to assist with a variety of duties to support the smooth operation of the premises.
