Job Description
Duties:
- Manage month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
- Prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for leadership review
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Handle AP/AR oversight, payroll journal entries, and fixed asset tracking
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control policies
- Support external audits and tax preparation in coordination with CPA/auditors
- Mentor junior accountants or bookkeeping staff, as applicable
- Manage the annual trade promotion budget by retailer and distributor.
- Validate and reconcile retailer deductions (bill-backs, shortages, damaged goods, pricing claims, promotional allowances).
- Review and approve trade spending requests.
- Analyze promotional ROI, lift, and profitability.
- Forecast trade spend accruals and ensure accurate month-end financial reporting.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Demand Planning, and brokers to validate promotional plans.
- Maintain trade promotion management (TPM) systems.
- Identify overpayments and recover invalid deductions.
- Build dashboards for trade spend, deduction trends, and promotional effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA a plus
