Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Tacoma, Washington. This role focuses on cleaning up historical cash accounts and performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. You will collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies while identifying opportunities to enhance accounting processes and controls.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive cash account reconciliations, addressing historical records spanning multiple years.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or reconciling items to ensure accurate reporting.
• Document and establish standardized processes for balance sheet reconciliations.
• Clean up and align historical cash activity to maintain proper account structure.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify transactions and improve financial accuracy.
• Identify and implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist with month-end close activities related to cash and balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures. Requirements
• Strong experience in cash account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Proven ability to investigate discrepancies and propose effective solutions.
• Proficiency in Excel for reconciliation and analysis tasks.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Tacoma, Washington.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders.
