An Accountant organizes and maintains financial records and prepares financial statements for companies and organizations. Works as a public accountant (prepares financial documents where public disclosure is required by law, such as business balance sheets and tax returns), management accountant (prepares financial information for internal use by a company) or government accountant (maintains records for government agencies).
Position Summary Oasis Farms, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to oversee key accounting functions for a diversified agricultural organization. Reporting directly to the CFO, this hands-on leadership position is responsible for financial reporting, general ledger, month-end and year-end close, payroll processing, AP/AR oversight, reconciliations, agricultural cost accounting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, leadership experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Agriculture, food packing, or manufacturing accounting experience is strongly preferred. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes. Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and bank reconciliations. Process and oversee weekly payroll, including payroll review, adjustments, deductions, taxes, allocations, and payroll-related reconciliations. Complete quarterly and year-end payroll reconciliations and assist with W-2/W-3, 941/943, benefit, payroll tax, and other applicable year-end reporting. Maintain accurate multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Review agricultural inventory, growing crop costs, production costs, cost allocations, and inventory valuation. Maintain fixed asset and debt schedules and related reconciliations. Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, financial modeling, and actual-to budget analysis. Analyze financial results, account variances, production costs, and other financial information for management. Develop, document, and maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and appropriate segregation of duties. Assist with CPA year-end financial statement and tax preparation requests. Support lender, audit, tax, insurance, and other financial reporting requirements. Provide leadership, training, and technical guidance to accounting staff. Partner with production, packing, HR, and other operational departments to ensure accurate financial information and efficient workflows. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including strong general ledger, financial reporting, reconciliation, and close experience. Accounting management or supervisory experience preferred. Hands-on payroll processing and payroll reconciliation experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Agriculture, farming, food packing, manufacturing, multi-entity, or cost accounting experience preferred. Knowledge of and/or experience assisting with accounting, payroll, ERP, or operational system implementations and upgrades. Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Experience with Datatech, Parity Factory, PickTrace, or similar systems is a plus.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
