full-time Accountant (43056) Our client is an organization in the Beloit area looking for an Accountant . Our client is looking for a motivated accounting professional who enjoys hands-on general accounting and wants to continue developing their skills. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes initiative, enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, and is excited to build a strong foundation across a variety of accounting responsibilities. The Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the monthly close process and ensure assigned accounting activities are completed accurately and timely. Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Complete account and balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies. Review general ledger activity and ensure accounts are properly recorded and balanced. Assist with intercompany accounting activities and reconcile transactions between entities. Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for assigned accounts. Analyze account activity and investigate unusual transactions or variances. Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and supporting documentation. Work closely with other accounting team members to resolve questions and ensure deadlines are met. Utilize Excel to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial information. Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with established policies and procedures. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and improve accounting efficiencies. Participate in accounting projects and take on additional responsibilities as knowledge and experience grow. Collaborate with team members and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented accounting environment. The Accountant will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. General accounting experience or a strong educational foundation in accounting. Solid understanding of debits and credits, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting. Exposure to month-end close activities preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with financial data. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work. Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and follow responsibilities through to completion. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to research and resolve discrepancies. Collaborative and team-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with others. Eager to learn, ask questions, and expand accounting knowledge. Interest in professional growth and taking on increasing levels of responsibility over time. Equal Opportunity Employer
