Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Prepare documentation and organize financial information to support an upcoming audit.
- Manage month-end close tasks to help ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain reliable records.
- Review existing accounting data, correct inconsistencies, and help bring books up to date.
- Support general ledger activity through journal entries, record maintenance, and routine accounting processing.
- Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including work connected to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Evaluate open accounting issues, set priorities, and resolve outstanding items independently.
- Provide practical support to the finance team in areas requiring additional accounting coverage. Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in an Accountant or similar hands-on accounting position.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks is required.
- Demonstrated experience with month-end close activities and account reconciliations.
- Familiarity with general ledger management, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Ability to work independently in an environment with limited documentation or established procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple accounting priorities.
- Experience supporting audits and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred but not required.
