full-time Extension is seeking a Staff Accountant / Payroll Specialist for a direct hire opportunity with one of our manufacturing clients located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. About Our Client Established and financially stable manufacturing organization with approximately 250 employees Offers the opportunity to gain exposure to both payroll and broad accounting functions Collaborative accounting team focused on continuous improvement, automation, and operational efficiency Comprehensive benefits package available from day one, including medical, dental, vision, disability coverage, EAP, and a 401(k) with company match Long-term career growth opportunities within accounting and finance Key Objectives / Role Responsibilities Process and administer bi-weekly multi-state payroll for approximately 250 employees Prepare payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, tax reporting, and compliance documentation Support month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Assist with financial reporting, audits, and special accounting projects Identify opportunities to improve accounting and payroll processes utilizing Excel, automation tools, and technology solutions Desired Skills & Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience Payroll processing experience required; multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred General ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close experience Strong understanding of accounting principles Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Associate's Degree considered with applicable accounting and payroll experience Salary Information $75,000 - $90,000 annually We're looking forward to connecting with you and are excited to help you make your next career move!
