Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and supporting the organization's financial health. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with accounting standards and facilitate smooth financial operations across various departments. Responsibilities Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, accounts payable, and accounts receivable management using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage. Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Prepare journal entries, conduct account analysis, and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Support payroll management using systems like ADP, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and variance reporting to support strategic decision-making. Ensure compliance with internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and governmental accounting standards. Collaborate with external auditors during audits and prepare necessary documentation for compliance purposes. Utilize Excel data analysis skills for detailed financial reporting and data-driven insights. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, preferably within corporate or governmental settings. Strong knowledge of accounting systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms. Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Paychex, or similar tools; experience with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel is essential. Solid understanding of GAAP, governmental accounting practices, and technical accounting concepts. Experience with account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet management. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while demonstrating strong customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external vendors. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
