Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Accounting Supervisor with strong knowledge of government accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting. In this Accounting Supervisor role, the candidate will provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to the accounting team, review financial statements, revise internal reports, oversee accounts payable transactions, monitor fixed assets, perform bank reconciliations, assist with payroll accounting activities, track internal controls, and assist with the development of annual budgets and forecasting. This Accounting Supervisor must have thorough understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles, be able to succeed in a fast-paced environment, proven leadership abilities, and possess strong analytical skills. Primary Responsibilities
- Review and assist with budget reports
- Analyze financial data
- Monitor profit and loss for the organization
- Assist with month end close
- Maintain a system of accounting policies and procedures
- Review financial statements, update financials as needed
- Monitor internal controls
- Assist with audit documentation
- Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of invoices
- Recommend improvements to accounting procedures The ideal Accounting Supervisor will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. Other requirements for the Accounting Supervisor role include and are not limited to:
- 4+ years of government accounting experience
- CPA required
- Proficiency in accounting software, technical accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
