Job Description

The Advocacy & Guardianship Department is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Guardianship Accounting Support Specialist to provide administrative and accounting support for our Guardianship Program. In this role, you'll help manage the day-to-day financial activities of client accounts, including processing payments and deposits, tracking expenses, maintaining accurate records, communicating with vendors, and assisting with account reconciliation. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in bookkeeping, billing, accounts payable, or administrative accounting who enjoys detailed work and wants their work to support members of the Tribal community. What You'll Do Process client payment and funds requests and ensure payments are completed accurately and on time. Prepare and distribute checks and maintain payment documentation. Communicate with vendors regarding payments, invoices, W-9s, and account information. Process deposits and refunds received on behalf of clients and accurately record transactions. Track and monitor client finances to help ensure accounts remain within approved budgets. Assist with account reconciliation and maintain accurate financial records. Perform data entry, prepare reports, and maintain databases and files. Coordinate travel logistics and provide general administrative support to Guardianship staff. Work collaboratively with the Guardianship Assistant Director, Administrator, and program staff.
What We're Looking For Required:
High school diploma or GED. At least 1 year of experience in administrative support, bookkeeping, billing, accounting, or a similar field. Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices and account reconciliation. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills . Valid Florida driver's license. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays, and travel as needed.
Preferred:
Associate degree or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience. Previous experience supporting financial accounts, accounts payable, billing, bookkeeping, or similar functions. Pay:
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour
