Job Description:
Position Summary The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supervising accounting staff, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role works closely with leadership to maintain compliance with GAAP, improve internal controls, and drive process efficiencies. Key Responsibilities Supervise and mentor accounting team members, including performance management and workload prioritization. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and account reconciliation activities. Coordinate and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Support external audits, tax filings, and other compliance-related activities. Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures. Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements. Collaborate with department leaders to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. CPA designation preferred but not required. Preferred Background Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting. Prior leadership experience supervising accounting staff. Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and audit coordination.
