Senior Accounts Receivable Supervisor Location:
Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)Salary:
$85,000 - $105,000 DOE A well-established distribution and logistics company in Bakersfield is looking to add an experienced accounting leader to its team. With operations supporting customers throughout California and the Western U.S., the organization has built a reputation for reliability, strong customer relationships, and operational excellence. This position plays a key role in ensuring healthy cash flow, maintaining strong customer accounts, and leading a high-performing receivables team. The Opportunity This role exists to provide leadership and oversight for the accounts receivable function as the company continues to grow. The Senior Accounts Receivable Supervisor will oversee daily receivables operations, guide a team of AR professionals, and partner closely with accounting, customer service, and operations leadership. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on involvement with team leadership. The right person will have ownership of credit and collections processes, help drive continuous improvements, and serve as a key resource for financial leadership. What You'll Do- Lead the daily operations of the accounts receivable department, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and cash application activities.
- Manage and mentor AR staff, providing coaching, training, performance guidance, and support for professional development.
- Analyze aging reports, collection trends, and customer account activity to improve cash flow and reduce outstanding balances.
- Partner with sales, customer service, and accounting teams to resolve billing discrepancies and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Review and enhance AR policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive accounts receivable experience, including prior supervisory or team leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of credit, collections, cash application, reconciliations, and general accounting principles.
- Experience working with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Background in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or other high-volume transactional environments preferred. Why This Role Stands Out
