AP MANAGER
Butler, PA $80,000- $110,000 Our client is a well-established, family-owned organization with a long-standing reputation for excellence, integrity, and customer service. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead the accounts payable function and drive operational excellence within a collaborative finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys improving processes, developing employees, and partnering with leadership to support the organization's continued growth. The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Payable department while leading a team responsible for accurate and timely invoice processing, vendor payments, reporting, and process improvements. This role will play a key part in strengthening internal controls, enhancing efficiencies, and supporting the organization's financial objectives.
OVERVIEW OF THE AP MANAGER ROLE
Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts Payable team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Manage daily AP operations, workload distribution, and employee performance. Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and vendor payments. Monitor AP aging reports and proactively resolve outstanding items. Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve payment discrepancies. Oversee AP automation tools and third-party integrations to improve efficiency. Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including: Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) Early Payment Discounts Invoice Exception Rates Conduct monthly reviews of outstanding liabilities and payment trends with finance leadership. Identify opportunities to improve processes, internal controls, and departmental efficiencies. Partner with Accounting, Finance, Purchasing, and Operations to support company-wide initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE AP MANAGER
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Minimum of five years of progressive accounting or accounts payable experience. Previous supervisory or management experience required. Experience analyzing AP metrics and implementing process improvements preferred. #
