This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their expertise in financial auditing, internal controls, and regulatory compliance within a fast-paced environment. As a Junior Audit Assistant, you will support senior auditors in executing audit procedures, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring adherence to established accounting standards and regulations. This position is ideal for candidates eager to gain hands-on experience in public accounting, governmental auditing, and financial reporting while contributing to maintaining the integrity of financial processes. Duties Assist in conducting internal financial compliance audits across various departments and entities Support external audit engagements by preparing documentation, schedules, and working papers aligned with GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards) Review internal controls in accordance with COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations) frameworks to identify gaps and recommend improvements Contribute to the preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements Participate in risk management assessments by analyzing financial data and internal control effectiveness Use accounting software and Microsoft Office tools to compile, analyze, and present financial data clearly and professionally Support team management by coordinating audit schedules, tracking progress, and assisting with team collaboration efforts Skills Strong understanding of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), internal controls management, and internal audits Knowledge of financial concepts including general ledger accounting, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis skills Experience with accounting standards such as GAAP, GAAS, and COSO frameworks Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and public accounting environments Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software applications Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for identifying discrepancies or compliance issues Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality work standards Effective team management skills with the ability to collaborate within auditors' teams or cross-functional groups Basic tax experience and knowledge of financial software used for audit purposes is a plus Join us as a Junior Audit Assistant (Part-time) to develop your career in the vibrant field of financial auditing.
