Power Mitigation and Restoration Company / Top Notch Home Services Position Overview We are seeking an experienced BPI-Certified Building Analyst / Energy Auditor to join our team and perform residential building-performance assessments, energy audits, diagnostic testing, and energy-efficiency evaluations. The ideal candidate will have 4-5+ years of hands-on experience conducting residential energy audits and building-performance testing and must have active, current certifications relevant to the position. Required Certifications Candidates must have active certifications in: BPI Building Analyst (BA) BPI Building Performance Associate (BPA) BPI Building Analyst Technician (BAT) Candidates should be prepared to provide copies of current certificates and verify that certifications are active and in good standing. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive residential energy audits and whole-house assessments. Conduct building-performance testing and identify energy-efficiency opportunities. Perform blower door testing and evaluate overall building air leakage. Conduct duct leakage testing using duct blaster equipment when required. Perform pressure diagnostics and identify air leakage pathways. Evaluate insulation levels and installation quality. Identify opportunities for air sealing, insulation, duct improvements, HVAC efficiency, and ventilation improvements. Perform combustion safety and CAZ testing , including evaluation for potential spillage and backdrafting. Monitor ambient carbon monoxide and identify potential combustion-safety concerns. Conduct required diagnostic measurements and document test results accurately. Evaluate building envelope conditions and interaction between the thermal and pressure boundaries. Follow applicable BPI standards, program requirements, health and safety procedures, and company protocols. Take detailed photographs and measurements of existing conditions. Prepare professional energy audit reports and documentation. Provide clear recommendations for energy-efficiency improvements. Communicate findings professionally with homeowners, contractors, program administrators, and office staff. Maintain accurate project documentation for rebate, utility, and energy-efficiency programs. Coordinate with HVAC, insulation, electrical, and other field technicians when improvements are identified. Required Experience 4-5+ years of professional experience in building performance, residential energy auditing, weatherization, HVAC diagnostics, or related energy-efficiency work. Demonstrated hands-on experience performing residential energy assessments. Experience operating professional diagnostic equipment. Experience with blower doors, manometers, pressure diagnostics, duct blasters, combustion analyzers, and CO monitoring equipment. Experience interpreting diagnostic test results and developing energy-efficiency recommendations. Experience working with utility rebate, weatherization, or energy-efficiency programs is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of building science and residential building systems. standards and protocols Health and safety requirements Energy-efficiency rebate and weatherization programs Equipment Experience Candidates should be comfortable using equipment such as: Blower door systems Digital manometers Pressure pans Duct blasters Combustion analyzers Ambient CO monitors Gas/combustible gas detectors Smoke visualization equipment Exhaust fan flow meters Infrared cameras Temperature and humidity measurement equipment Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to travel to residential job sites throughout the assigned service area. Ability to work independently in occupied homes. Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to accurately complete reports and electronic documentation. Ability to use smartphones/tablets and required field documentation software. Must be able to safely lift and carry testing equipment. Must be willing to comply with background checks and program-specific requirements, if applicable. Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates with: Experience with GEFA Home Energy Rebates (HER/HEAR) . Experience with Georgia Power energy-efficiency programs. Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) experience. Additional BPI certifications.
