Position Overview Clean Solar Energy is seeking a detail-driven and certified Weatherization Energy Auditor to conduct comprehensive home energy assessments, diagnostic testing, and quality assurance audits across residential properties in Massachusetts. In this role, you will evaluate building performance, identify thermal bypasses, draft comprehensive energy-efficiency scopes of work, and ensure all installations meet strict state and utility program standards. Compensation & Pay Structure This position operates on a professional hourly salary range designed to reward expertise, building science proficiency, and meticulous diagnostic accuracy. Pay scales from a solid base floor of $32.43/hr up to a top performance cap of $48.87/hr , reflecting the critical technical accountability required for program compliance and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities Energy Audits & Assessments:
Perform comprehensive home energy audits, including blower door testing, duct leakage testing, combustion safety testing, and infrared thermography.
Scope of Work Development:
Analyze audit data to generate accurate, cost-effective energy-efficiency upgrade recommendations (insulation, air sealing, HVAC, solar integration) aligned with utility and state programs.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Inspect completed field installations performed by 3-man crews to verify adherence to building codes, ACCA standards, and program guidelines before final sign-off.
Client Communication:
Educate homeowners on energy audit findings, explain recommended energy-efficiency measures, and guide them through available clean energy incentives and rebates.
Technical Documentation:
Complete detailed audit reports, data entry for utility programs, and compliance paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum 2+ years of experience conducting residential energy audits, BPI building analysis, or HVAC load calculations.
Certifications:
BPI Building Analyst (BA) certification required (Envelope Professional or Quality Control Inspector certifications preferred).
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of building science, thermal dynamics, heat transfer, ventilation standards, and diagnostic testing equipment.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical building science concepts clearly to homeowners.
License:
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
