Staff and Senior Auditor Location:
Melville, NY OR Iselin, NJ (On-site 3-4 days/week)
Industry Focus:
Mortgage Banking, Private Debt Funds, Depositories, and Credit Unions Employment Type:
Full-Time Salary Range:
$75,000 - $100k (based on years of exp) 1 busy season ~ $75-80k Staff 2 busy seasons ~ $80-85k Staff 3 busy seasons ~ $90-95k Senior 4+ busy seasons ~ $100k
Senior Bonus:
Discretionary, based on performance (can be up to 20%)

Firm:
My client is a fast-growing financial services advisory firm specializing in niche verticals such as mortgage banking, private debt funds, depositories, and credit unions. The firm places a high value on client relationships, integrity, and developing strong internal talent. With ~90 employees across three offices, they offer the stability of a well-established firm and the agility of a closely held team.
Who We're Looking For:
This is a great opportunity for someone currently in a Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting firm who wants more visibility, a better work-life balance post-busy season, and room to grow in a specialized financial services firm.
Responsibilities:
Staff Auditor:
Assist in audits of financial institutions and related entities Perform substantive audit testing and document findings Collaborate with seniors and managers to execute audit plans Engage with clients as needed, particularly during busy season
Qualifications:
Required for
Both Roles:
At least 2 busy seasons of public accounting audit experience Strong understanding of audit methodology Excellent communication and organizational skills Willingness to work on-site in Melville, NY 3-4 days/week Ambition to pursue a CPA license (if not already licensed) Preferred (not required): Experience with financial services clients (mortgage banking, private debt funds, etc.) ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) experience — this is a big plus CPA license or parts passed for senior-level

Work Schedule:
Heavy hours during Q1 (Jan-April), lighter in summer
Travel:
Minimal — 3-5 times/year, mostly local; Q1 concentrated
