Job Description
Job Overview Guthrie & Co PC is a professional office providing quality audit, tax and accounting services. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Audit Assistant to join our team. This role is the perfect opportunity for those beginning their careers in accounting and audits and are looking to develop their knowledge and skills. This is a temporary, part-time position with the potential for year-round, full-time employment after successfully completing the 90-day probationary period. Duties Assisting in the planning and execution of audits, reviews, compilations, and related tasks Maintain organized financial records and files and other required documentation Complete neat, finished, and organized workpapers using the firm's technology Communicate with the audit and attestation team and clients Support the audit and attestation team through routine tasks, gathering information, reviewing documents, and following established procedures Perform general clerical tasks such as proofreading documents, managing calendars, and organizing office supplies Qualifications Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel spreadsheets is a plus Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills for client interactions Provide clear written communication in both internal and external correspondence Takes the initiative to increase knowledge and skills Interacts with others in a manner that cultivates an environment of trust, respect, and fairness A bachelor's degree or current college enrollment is required A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred Familiarity with auditing standards is a plus Interest in pursuing a career in accounting is a plus We value energetic professionals who thrive in organized environments while delivering outstanding support to our clients and colleagues alike.
