Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of collision-related repairs using computer-aided estimating software. Prepare detailed repair estimates that include parts, labor, and materials, ensuring accuracy and transparency for customers and insurance companies. Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair procedures, costs, and timelines to foster trust and satisfaction. Collaborate with technicians, parts departments, and insurance adjusters to facilitate smooth workflow and timely vehicle repairs. Upsell additional services such as mechanical repairs or maintenance when appropriate to enhance customer value and shop revenue. Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, repair orders, and client communications for accountability and reporting purposes. Stay current on industry standards, estimating software updates, and new automotive repair techniques to provide expert guidance. Skills Proven experience in auto estimating software and collision repair processes with dealership or independent shops preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge including automotive diagnostics, transmissions, suspension systems, brake repair, tire service, shocks & struts, oil changes, air brake systems, and vehicle maintenance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and costs. Ability to upsell additional services confidently while maintaining integrity and professionalism. Automotive repair experience combined with service writing skills to produce accurate estimates quickly. Familiarity with computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools and auto service management systems. Dealership experience is a plus; driving license required for client visits or vehicle inspections. Knowledge of auto sales techniques including auto estimating and client communication strategies.
