Assistant Branch Manager (East Branch)
Role:
The primary function of this job is to support the Branch Manager in overseeing the efficient operations of the retail branch. Be knowledgeable of all products and services the Credit Union offers and provide the member with the necessary information to make an informed financial decision. Provide staff with the information and/or direction needed to improve the members' financial well-being and continuously work to exceed member expectations through proactive servicing skills. Assist the Branch Manager with coaching and team building to effectively motivate staff. Promote teamwork through positive interactions with co-workers and other departments in order to achieve company objectives and improve the company's quality of work life.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist staff members with requested financial transactions, answering questions and resolving problems covering the entire spectrum of products and services offered by the Credit Union, including opening new accounts, processing loan applications, and providing additional offerings beneficial to the member. Assist the Branch Manager with daily activities to ensure branch personnel work together to achieve the Credit Union's objectives; monitor branch operating results relative to established objectives; oversee daily branch operations to assure informed, professional, and accurate service to all members and associates . Within established levels of authority, assist the Branch Manager in the supervision and training of branch personnel. Assist in tracking assigned goals and coaching of the staff to meet and/or exceed those goals. Assist the Branch Manager with the day-to-day branch operations including but not limited to: maintaining sound operating methods, practices and procedures to ensure compliance, cost efficiency, quality service and productivity; maintaining and monitoring cash supply, branch balancing, check processing and transmission; maintaining equipment and office appearance to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, repairs and other facility needs are met; and monitoring adherence to security and safety policies and procedures. Manage retail branch office in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Expectations:
Ensure Credit Union policies and procedures are being followed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Coach and develop employees to identify cross sales opportunities while providing exceptional member service. Maintain the highest confidentiality of member information, including account information and transaction history. Cross-sell products and services that will benefit the overall financial well-being of the member. Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers. Promote the Credit Union at various functions or events as directed. This may require work outside of regular scheduled business hours. Assist all staff with member service in any capacity necessary; opening accounts, taking loan applications, and cash management activities such as: vault, cash drawer, wire transfers and ATM balancing. Perform other such duties as may be assigned which are commensurate with the position and in the best interest of the Credit Union.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience :
Three to five years similar or related experience, including one year of supervisory experience, preferably with a financial institution.
Education :
A college degree is preferred or experience in a related field with equal responsibility may be considered in lieu of the degree.
Interpersonal Skills :
Requires a willingness to work within a retail sales environment, possessing a professional, patient, and friendly demeanor at all times when assisting members and co-workers. Possess strong communication and motivational skills for training/coaching staff, mental alertness, and a cooperative attitude toward others.
Other Skills :
Possess extensive knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures. Neatness in appearance, punctuality, flexibility, and dependability are a must. Must have a basic understanding of operating a computer, ability to use Microsoft Office, and navigate the internet. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy. Experience with cash management and working knowledge of ATM balancing and maintenance is desired.
Work Environment :
The goal of the Dialogue Branch environment is to provide a single source for most of the financial needs of our members. Because of varying branch operating hours, events, functions, meetings and/or training, working on weekends and evenings may be required. The responsibilities associated with this position may change from time to time in accordance with the organization's goals and business needs. EOE
