Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Branch Manager to oversee the daily operations of our flooring distribution branch. This position is responsible for leading a team of approximately 10-30 employee s across customer service, retail sales, warehouse/distribution, logistics, and administration. The ideal candidate is an assertive, hands-on leade r who can effectively manage employees at all levels, hold the team accountable, and create a culture focused on customer service, safety, teamwork, and operational excellence. This individual should be comfortable making decisions, solving problems, managing competing priorities, and taking ownership of the branch's overall performance and profitability. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10-30 employees. Provide clear direction, set expectations, and hold employees accountable for performance. Effectively manage and communicate with employees at all levels of the organization. Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Address employee performance and operational issues promptly and appropriately. Oversee customer service activities and ensure customers receive exceptional service. Work closely with Account Managers to support, maintain, and grow customer accounts. Manage walk-in retail customers and identify opportunities for upselling and add-on sales. Resolve customer concerns and ensure issues are handled professionally and efficiently. Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments, returns, and daily warehouse operations. Ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently to meet customer requirements. Manage the efficient flow of inventory throughout the branch. Ensure warehouse operations are conducted safely and in accordance with company policies and applicable safety requirements. Serve as the Branch Safety Coordinator and promote a safe working environment. Maintain appropriate inventory levels and product mix. Monitor inventory movement and identify slow-moving products. Conduct and oversee daily cycle counts and periodic physical inventories. Ensure inventory adjustments, breakage, and discrepancies are properly addressed. Coordinate product purchasing and replenishment as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Previous management or supervisory experience with responsibility for leading a team. Demonstrated ability to manage 10-30 employee s and effectively lead employees at all levels. Strong leadership skills with an assertive, confident, and professional management style. Previous experience in customer service, sales, warehousing, purchasing, order fulfillment, or distribution operations. Flooring industry or flooring distribution experience strongly preferred. Experience managing inventory and warehouse/distribution operations. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Computer literate with the ability to learn and utilize business and inventory management systems. Strong business acumen and experience managing operational costs and/or P&L. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
