Legacy Farmers Cooperative is seeking an experienced Grain Branch Manager to lead the daily operations of our Defiance grain facility, including our rail-loading operations. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing grain handling, employee supervision, customer relationships, inventory management, safety, and financial performance while ensuring efficient operations and exceptional service to our farmer-members. What You'll Do Lead the day-to-day operations of the grain facility, including receiving, storing, conditioning, blending, and shipping grain. Oversee rail-loading operations, including railcar scheduling, loading, sampling, documentation, and freight release. Supervise, coach, train, and develop branch employees while promoting a positive, safety-focused work environment. Build and maintain strong relationships with grain producers and customers by providing outstanding customer service. Partner with the Vice President of Grain to coordinate logistics, transportation, grain inventory, and marketing opportunities. Monitor grain quality through proper storage practices, temperature monitoring, sampling, and grading. Maintain accurate grain inventories and required documentation. Oversee facility maintenance, equipment, buildings, and grounds while managing operating expenses. Support budgeting, capital improvement projects, and operational planning. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, grain handling regulations, and housekeeping standards. Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; agriculture, business, or management education preferred. Five or more years of grain operations experience; previous management experience preferred. Experience with rail-loading or rail facility operations strongly preferred. Strong understanding of grain handling, grain quality, storage practices, and transportation logistics. Ability to interpret budgets, inventory reports, and operational metrics. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Customer-focused with the ability to build lasting relationships. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to work extended hours during harvest and other peak seasonal periods. Preferred Qualifications Experience with grain origination and producer relationships. Experience with grain inventory systems and agricultural software. Strong computer skills.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
