Non-Exempt Position Summary The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in the daily operations of the branch by providing leadership, coaching, and operational oversight to Teller and Personal Banker staff. This position promotes exceptional customer service, ensures compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements, supports branch sales initiatives, and assists with cash management and operational controls. The Assistant Branch Manager serves as a resource for employees and customers while helping drive branch growth and performance. Essential Functions Leadership & Staff Development Assist in supervising daily branch operations, including teller and personal banker activities. Assign and coordinate teller responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow and outstanding customer service. Prepare and maintain employee work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members. Assist with onboarding and training new hires. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on teamwork and accountability. Customer Service & Relationship Building Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and timely manner. Open new deposit accounts and perform account maintenance transactions. Identify opportunities to recommend and cross-sell bank products and services based on customer needs. Participate in customer retention and relationship-building activities. Support branch business development efforts and community engagement initiatives. Operations & Cash Management Assist with overseeing teller operations and cash handling procedures. Manage vault operations, including balancing, currency orders, and Federal Reserve shipments. Oversee ATM, night drop, and coin machine balancing while ensuring dual-control procedures are followed. Participate in branch audits, security reviews, and surprise cash counts. Ensure teller and banker workstations are properly stocked, maintained, and organized. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain knowledge of and adherence to BSA, CIP, AML, and other applicable regulations. Protect customer and bank information by maintaining strict confidentiality. Maintain accurate records, reports, and supporting documentation. Assist in addressing audit findings and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Other Duties Maintain regular attendance and punctuality. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum two (2) years of banking experience, including leadership roles. One (1) year of management experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills. Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
