We have been providing a safe, fun, and positive environment at our sites with trained and dedicated professional staff for more than 80 years. Members are involved in age-appropriate activities based upon our three priority outcomes of Academic Success, Character Development, and Healthy Lifestyles.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Branch Manager is responsible for directing and managing the overall daily operations of the assigned Branch. The primary focus is creating a safe, supportive environment for our youth by developing and implementing a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery. Also supervises and trains staff (direct and indirect reports), consults with human resources on personnel issues, manages facilities, and adheres to behavior management policy while exercising authority in problems relating to members.
FUNCTION/TASKS
  • Plans and oversees the administration of any organization-wide programs, initiatives, and activities that support the BGCSPS Youth Development Strategy.
  • Develop programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success by creating an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates achievement of youth development outcomes.
  • Staff management and leadership. Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings, trainings, and special events as needed; promote excellent leadership qualities through on-going communication and by example.
  • Communicate job expectations and hold staff accountable; appraise performance; review compensation actions.
  • Manage Branch financial resources. Control expenditures against budget.
  • Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the Club's physical properties and equipment, including use of facilities by outside groups.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 21 years of age; possess a BA degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or an equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
  • Two (2) years relevant experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar environment.
  • Well versed in program development and assessment, budgeting, facilities management.
  • Competent with core functions, culture, and issues pertaining to youth programs and development.
  • Direct supervisory skills to effectively lead, motivate, and manage staff in a dynamic working environment; recruit, and onboard staff; conduct performance evaluations, and mediate conflicts.
  • Proven presentation skills; experience conducting training, workshops, and seminars to various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to effectively communicate with diverse personalities while displaying tact, maturity, and flexibility.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications

  • Must pass a national criminal background check
  • Driving ○ Must have a reliable personal vehicle for business related travel. ○ Valid WA State driver's license with acceptable 3 year MVR
  • driving record.
○ Verification of Tier 2 Insurance standards. ○ Willingness to travel within a designated region for community partnership visits and business meetings. ○ Ability to successfully complete van driving; drug screen testing, training & requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
To keep our staff safe we adhere to the CDC safety guidelines and remain in close communication with local health departments, program partners, and local School Districts to work together to serve our youth in the safest way we can. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. High energy level; comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities at all times displaying tact, maturity and flexibility; good reasoning abilities and sound judgment. Skills essential for successful communications include speaking and writing. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, being active and on your feet for a minimum of four hours; adapt to changes in a highly energetic work environment; other duties as assigned.
Environment of the position:
both indoors and outdoors; possibility of adverse weather conditions; noise, dust, pollen and insects; including contact with the public. Possible contact with dissatisfied and/or abusive individuals.
