About the Role We're looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our accounting team in Chico. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, helping customers, staying organized, and learning how accounting functions within a fast-paced equipment dealership. In this role, you'll help process customer payments, generate invoices, maintain accurate account records, assist with collections, and work closely with Sales, Service, Parts, and Accounting to resolve account questions. This is an entry-level accounting position, and prior accounting experience is helpful but not required. What You'll Do Process customer payments and accurately apply them to the appropriate accounts. Generate customer invoices and ensure they are delivered in a timely manner. Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with collections communication as needed. Maintain accurate records of customer transactions, payments, and account status. Reconcile customer accounts and research discrepancies. Respond professionally to questions regarding invoices, statements, balances, and payment history. Assist with preparing deposits and balancing daily cash activity. Support month-end closing tasks related to accounts receivable. Maintain organized digital and physical A/R documentation. Work closely with Sales, Service, and Parts departments to resolve customer account issues. Assist the accounting department with administrative and financial tasks as assigned. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with multiple departments. Strong computer skills and willingness to learn HBS and other accounting systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional, dependable, and comfortable handling financial information. Bonus Points Previous experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or an administrative role. Basic understanding of accounting principles. Experience with accounts receivable, invoicing, cash application, or account reconciliation. Experience working in an equipment dealership, automotive dealership, construction-related business, or similar environment. Familiarity with HBS or other accounting software.
