Hospital San Antonio Inc. is a growing international healthcare organization specializing in medical services for local patients, expatriates, international travelers, and insured members from U.S. and global insurance carriers. Our billing department works directly with U.S. commercial insurance companies, assistance companies, and international healthcare networks to manage claims, appeals, collections, and reimbursement processes. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our growing medical billing and insurance operations team. Position Summary The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing and following up on outstanding medical insurance claims, insurance denials, appeals, payment posting discrepancies, and account reconciliation for international medical claims. The ideal candidate will have experience working with U.S. medical insurance carriers and medical billing systems. Key Responsibilities Follow up on outstanding insurance claims with U.S. commercial insurance carriers Review claim denials and underpayments Submit appeals and reconsiderations when necessary Verify insurance benefits and claim status through payer portals and telephone follow-up Work within platforms such as: Availity Office Ally UHC Provider Portal PCH Global CollaborateMD (CMD) Maintain accurate documentation of claim activity and follow-up efforts Reconcile payments and identify billing discrepancies Coordinate with coding, billing, and patient account departments Escalate high-priority claims and aging accounts Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards Assist with international and out-of-network claim processing

QualificationsRequired:

Experience in medical billing and accounts receivable Knowledge of U.S. health insurance claims processes Strong understanding of EOBs, denials, appeals, and payment posting Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Intermediate to advanced computer skills English proficiency (written and verbal)

Preferred:
