On-Site Position Summary Carbon Activated Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated Accounting Assistant to support the daily accounting and financial operations of our Compton office. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for recording financial transactions, processing invoices and payments, reconciling accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with financial reporting and month-end closing procedures. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong Excel skills, and experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP Business One. This position offers an opportunity to develop accounting skills and gain experience supporting the financial operations of a growing international company. Key Responsibilities General Accounting & Financial Records Record daily financial transactions and prepare journal entries in SAP. Maintain accurate and organized accounting records. Perform account analysis and reconcile general ledger accounts. Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records. Organize and maintain supporting documentation for audits, financial reviews, and internal reporting. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Process supplier invoices and verify the accuracy of billing information. Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records. Coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal departments to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies. Assist with payment processing and monitor outstanding transactions. Ensure invoices and payments are recorded accurately and on time. Banking & Account Reconciliations Prepare and process bank transactions, including ACH payments and wire transfers, in accordance with company approval procedures. Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies. Reconcile company credit card accounts and employee expense reports. Maintain accurate records of banking transactions and supporting documentation. Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Support month-end and year-end closing activities. Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Assist with financial analysis and reporting as requested. Monitor budgets and track departmental expenses. Identify and communicate discrepancies or unusual transactions to management. Administrative & Departmental Support Maintain organized financial files and documentation. Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal departments. Support accounting audits and financial reviews. Assist with process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency. Perform other accounting and administrative tasks or special projects as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience using accounting software or an ERP system. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP Business One. Previous experience in an accounting assistant, accounting clerk, or similar position. Experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and accounts payable. Familiarity with intercompany accounting and financial reporting. Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or international business environment.
