Role Description The Accounting Assistant is a part-time, on-site role based in Costa Mesa, CA. This position supports day-to-day financial operations, including recording and reconciling transactions, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining organized financial records. The Accounting Assistant prepares basic financial reports, helps monitor budgets, and supports the month-end closing process. The role also involves working with accounting software, processing payments and invoices, and coordinating with staff and leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial information. The individual in this role contributes to the smooth financial functioning of the organization while supporting its educational and artistic mission. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Accounting and Finance to support daily financial operations and basic analysis. Candidates should possess skills in Bookkeeping and working with Accounting Software to accurately record and manage transactions. Candidates should possess skills related to preparing and reviewing Financial Statements to assist with reporting and compliance. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and office software; familiarity with nonprofit or arts organizations is a plus. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse staff and stakeholders. Relevant coursework, certification, or experience in accounting or finance is preferred.
