Job Description
A full-time, onsite Accounts Payable Specialist opportunity is available in Valley Center, CA for an experienced accounting professional with strong high-volume AP, reconciliation, vendor management, and general accounting support skills. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed accounting work, supporting multiple entities, and contributing to accurate financial operations in a structured government and public sector environment. The Accounts Payable Specialist will join a collaborative accounting team where accuracy, organization, and follow-through are valued. - Process high-volume accounts payable for multiple entities, including invoice review, approval coordination, check runs, vendor setup, and vendor record maintenance.
- Research and resolve invoice, payment, credit, and vendor statement discrepancies while maintaining accurate AP documentation.
- Perform bank reconciliations, process deposits, wires, banking transactions, and intercompany transfers across multiple accounts.
- Reconcile multiple company credit cards, enter transactions, track receipts, and follow up on missing documentation.
- Support purchase requisitions, purchase orders, AR activity, rental-property invoicing, payment posting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, annual audit preparation, accounting projects, and internal control compliance. Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $28 to $33 per hour, depending on experience.

Valley Center, CA. Required Qualifications and Skills- 2 to 5 years of accounting or business experience.
- At least 2 years of banking and cash-management experience.
- Experience with accounts payable, reconciliations, vendor management, and general accounting support.
- Familiarity with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Experience using accounting systems such as MIP, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Associate degree in Accounting with 2 to 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, communication, and ability to support multiple entities and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BI or similar business-intelligence tools.
- Experience supporting multiple entities, departments, or accounts.
- Government, public sector, nonprofit, or fund accounting experience is helpful.
