This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and confident managing payables, reconciliations, deposits, and account research in a fast-paced environment. The position will work closely with property teams and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate records, resolve discrepancies, and keep accounting processes running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute daily cash activity documentation while monitoring bank reporting for deposit accuracy and researching exceptions. Investigate account discrepancies, communicate issues to property teams, and provide support for property-level accounting questions. Process payment adjustments such as credit card refunds, voids, and urgent check requests in a timely and accurate manner. Review accounts payable batches against supporting invoices, route items for operational approval, and post approved transactions. Assemble check runs for printing, coordinate outgoing payments, and record recurring utility-related journal entries. Examine utility tracking reports, tax records, insurance impounds, and related schedules to identify and resolve inconsistencies. Prepare bank deposits, complete monthly bank reconciliations, and review petty cash activity for completeness and compliance. Support month-end close activities for properties, including pre-close review, vendor setup approval in Yardi, and year-end vendor total entry for 1099 preparation. Carry out additional accounting assignments and special projects as business needs require. Experience working in accounting operations with hands-on exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and billing activities. Proficiency with accounting software, ERP platforms, and financial systems used to manage transactional and reporting processes. Working knowledge of tools such as ADP, Ceridian, Concur, or comparable business finance applications. Ability to review invoices, bank activity, and supporting documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution. Comfortable managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and handling sensitive financial information professionally. Familiarity with auditing practices, vendor maintenance, and year-end reporting support is preferred.
