ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk supports the finance team by entering and processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure vendors are paid on time. This is an entry-level role, well suited to someone looking to start or build a career in accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter, verify, and process vendor invoices and expense reports accurately and on time Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices, and flag discrepancies to the accounting supervisor Prepare check and electronic payment batches for review and approval Code credit card statement transactions and collect supporting receipts Maintain organized vendor files and keep vendor information up to date Respond to routine vendor inquiries about invoice and payment status Scan, file, and retrieve AP documentation, including records requested for audits Follow company AP policies and procedures Assist with warehouse inventory counts as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; coursework in accounting or business a plus 1-2 year of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general office work Experience with accounting software or ERP systems a plus Proficient in MS Office - Outlook, Excel, Word Accurate data entry and strong attention to detail Time Management Communication Skills Organizational skills Willingness to learn and ask questions Company Culture Our working environment is a small office building environment where you'll have the chance to meet and interact with everyone throughout your involvement.
