Service Accounts Receivable Billing, Collections & Credit

We're a mechanical contractor in East County San Diego — $18-24M in commercial and federal construction, plus a refrigeration service company we're growing. We solve complex challenges for our clients in ways others can't or won't. That takes people who care about getting it right. We're hiring someone to own billing and collections for our service business. If you like being the person who knows every client, every portal, and exactly where the money is — this one's for you.. What You'll Own Invoicing - All service, maintenance agreement, quoted, and contract work — through ServiceBridge and client portals including Service Channel. Every client wants it a little differently; you'll learn their requirements and apply them consistently. Collections. Follow up on outstanding invoices, call clients directly, and keep AR past 90 days under 5%. Cash application. Apply payments daily in both systems, send the daily deposit summary, and deliver a weekly collections update to management without being asked. Credit. Credit applications and reference checks before terms are extended, credit limits set with management, deposits tracked on quoted jobs, and card payments processed securely. COD and DNS accounts. Keep dispatch, management, and techs current so nobody rolls a truck to an account that shouldn't be serviced. Backup dispatch and office support when the team needs it. What You Need 2+ years in accounts receivable, billing, or collections The ability to ask a client for money without damaging the relationship — this is the core of the job. Real accuracy. Invoices that go out wrong don't get paid, and you'll be working in two systems at once. Follow-through, and the discipline to do the daily things daily.
A plus:
service-trade billing (HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical), client portals like Service Channel or Corrigo, ServiceBridge/ServiceTitan/ComputerEase, or dispatch experience. You'll Stand Out If You Have Experience in construction, mechanical, or field service billing Experience with ServiceBridge, ComputerEase, or similar field service and construction accounting software A knack for building client relationships — you get to know people, not just invoices What We Offer $27-$35 per hour depending on experience
