TUSTIN UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT ACCOUNT CLERK II
Range 37
DEFINITION:
The Account Clerk II, under the general supervision of the Site Administrator, performs general and complex accounting work including keeping, reviewing, and maintaining financial and statistical records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Prepares accounting and statistical reports; maintains various financial records.
  • Screens financial documents for accuracy and adherence to legal and procedural requirements; submits reports as required by law.
  • Reconciles bank statements, prepares deposits and records transactions for District accounts.
  • Processes and audits invoices and verifies budget codes.
  • Establishes and maintains pertinent files, inventories and records including attendance, student store and transportation.
  • Prepares correspondence including memos and reports.
  • Performs related tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
  • The methods, practices, and terminology used in bookkeeping, statistical and financial record management.
  • Modern office practices, procedures, and machines.
  • Health regulations and safe working methods and procedures.
  • Proper lifting techniques.
  • District policies, rules and regulations.
Ability to:
  • Effectively and efficiently perform general and complex accounting clerical functions.
  • Make mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Effectively operate standard business machines, equipment and software applications.
  • Type or keyboard correctly.
  • Use 10-key calculator by touch.
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Observe health and safety regulations.
Education/Training/Required Certification:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in financial or statistical record-keeping.
  • College courses in accounting, finance or related field desirable.
