Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a construction and contractor-focused organization in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling a fast-paced invoice workflow, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting day-to-day payment operations with accuracy and efficiency. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to a busy accounting function while helping keep payable processes organized and on schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Process a large volume of invoices accurately and in a timely manner while following established payment procedures.
• Review billing documentation, verify details, and resolve discrepancies before submitting items for payment.
• Communicate with vendors to address account questions, payment status updates, and invoice-related concerns.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records to support reporting, audits, and internal documentation needs.
• Coordinate with internal departments to confirm approvals, coding, and supporting information for invoices.
• Monitor outstanding payables and help ensure scheduled payments are completed according to agreed terms.
• Assist with activities related to the company transition from one organization structure or platform to another as needed within the accounts payable function. Requirements
• At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Practical experience handling high-volume invoicing in a fast-moving work environment.
• Working knowledge of vendor account maintenance and vendor communication best practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and follow through on corrections.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and stay organized throughout the payment cycle.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams.
• Experience in construction, contractor, or similar industry settings is helpful.
