Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant, where your expertise will drive the financial integrity and smooth operation of our organization. This vital role combines precise bookkeeping with essential administrative support, ensuring accurate financial records and efficient office workflows. You will be empowered to utilize your accounting skills to manage financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and assist with reporting, all while supporting daily administrative tasks that keep our operations running seamlessly. Duties Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account analysis to uphold financial accuracy in compliance with GAAP standards. Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations to support month-end closing procedures. Assist with payroll processing and tax-related tasks, including preparing reports for governmental agencies. Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and assisting in financial report writing. Manage administrative responsibilities such as data entry (including 10 key typing), filing, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence. Requirements Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with Quicken is a plus. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation. Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices and governmental accounting is highly desirable. Ability to perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis accurately. Familiarity with financial concepts such as GAAP standards and technical accounting practices. Experience with accounts payable/receivable management and payroll processing. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail in data entry and meticulous record keeping.
