APPEALS / AR / COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST
ChildrenFirst Health Care System ChildrenFirst Health Care System is seeking an experienced Appeals / Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle Team. We are looking for someone who understands healthcare reimbursement and knows how to work denials, resolve outstanding claims, pursue appeals, and collect the revenue owed for services already provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work outstanding and aging claims Research and resolve unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims Prepare and submit appeals and reconsiderations Follow up directly with commercial and Medicaid plus Identify denial trends and determine appropriate next steps Review EOBs/ERAs and payer responses for accuracy Research, documentation and billing-related denials Escalate difficult or high-dollar claims Document all collection activity and payer follow-up Work collaboratively with Billing, Authorization, Intake, Clinical, and Operations teams Maintain consistent follow-up until claims are appropriately resolved Help reduce aging AR and improve overall collections
QUALIFICATIONS
Healthcare AR, collections, appeals, or denial management experience
REQUIRED
Home Health revenue cycle experience strongly preferred Experience working with Medicaid and commercials payers Strong understanding of claims, denials, EOBs/ERAs, authorizations, and appeals Excellent research and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and documentation Persistent and comfortable communicating directly with insurance companies Ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume AR workload

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
