Full-Time About the Position A well-established manufacturing and warehousing organization in Pensacola, Florida, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable & General Accounting Specialist to join its accounting team. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and is comfortable managing day-to-day accounting functions while supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and demonstrated proficiency with QuickBooks. Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, or similar operational environment is preferred. Key Responsibilities- Manage the full accounts payable process, including receiving, reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices
- Verify invoices against purchase orders, receiving documents, and other supporting documentation
- Prepare and process vendor payments in accordance with established payment schedules
- Maintain accurate and organized vendor records and resolve invoice discrepancies as needed
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with general ledger maintenance and routine accounting entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and accounting reports
- Assist with accounts receivable functions, including customer invoicing, cash receipts, and account reconciliation, as needed
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of company expenses and transactions
- Assist with inventory-related accounting and recordkeeping as applicable
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Maintain organized accounting files and documentation
- Assist with budgeting, reporting, and other accounting projects as assigned
- Work collaboratively with management, operations, purchasing, warehouse personnel, and vendors
- Help ensure accounting records are accurate, timely, and maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks is required
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger accounting
- Experience with account reconciliations and month-end closing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team
- Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, or inventory-based businesses is a plus What We Offer
