Job Description
Established in 1876, the Lewis Bear Company has been a locally-owned and operated distribution company for five generations. It is the oldest privately held corporation in Florida and Anheuser-Busch's oldest continuous distributor. Our territory is Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun, Franklin and Gulf Counties in Florida.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and report past due accounts receivable via close and regular scrutiny of system generated customer aging reports.
- Audit daily bank deposits.
- Monitor returned checks.
- Responsible for research and resolution of customer charge backs.
- Investigating and resolving customer billing inquiries and disputes.
- Follow up on overdue customer accounts, short pays and manage collections thereto.
- Generating customer invoices and statements.
- Support month end closing activities, including bank balance verification.
- Monitor Fintech to ensure customer accounts are active and set up correctly.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in business preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two years of experience functioning in an accounting staff role.
- Good communication skills: ability to communicate effectively with customers regarding past due accounts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic computer skills.
- Must be detail oriented and approach daily duties with urgency.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Requires detailed transaction research, analytical skills, and documentation of actions.
- Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
