Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Bookkeeper and become a vital part of our financial operations! In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help us streamline our financial processes, support budgeting efforts, and produce precise financial reports that inform strategic decisions. We're looking for an energetic professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering meticulous bookkeeping that drives organizational success. Responsibilities Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data across various accounts. Handle accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently to maintain healthy cash flow. Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and general ledger reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Conduct detailed account analysis and general ledger accounting to support month-end and year-end closing procedures. Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements to ensure compliance. Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and providing insights into financial trends. Maintain meticulous records of all transactions, including debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation documentation. Collaborate with auditors during audits by providing accurate documentation and explanations of financial data. Experience Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role within corporate or non-profit organizations. Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or equivalent systems; experience with Quicken is a plus. Solid understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management. Familiarity with GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices is preferred. Experience handling accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, tax preparation, and financial report writing. Ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation accurately. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of technical accounting principles related to budget management and account analysis is advantageous.
